Places to visit in and around Solapur city :-

Famous textile city Solapur is a district in Maharashtra and situated near the south. Cotton mills and power looms gives Solapur an identity. Solapur is also known as Textile City. Solapur is also an ancient historical and religious place. There are many nearby places one can visit in Solapur. Such as Akkalkot has the famous for Shri Swami Samarth temple. Maldhok Bird Sanctuary is very famous for bird watching. Recently Uddhav Thackeray visited this palce with his son Aditya Thackeray. Shri Siddheshwar Temple is worshiped by ligayat society people. This temple is situated in center of lake and compared with golden temple, Amritsar. Many pilgrims come to Solapur and visit Tuljapur, Pandharpur and Akkalkot by hiring a car. Siddheshwar Temple and Lake :-

Shri Sidheshwar was a devotee of shri Mallikarjun who has been ordered by his guru to return to Solapur and built a temple. He obeyed his guru’s order and built a sixty eight lingams in total. Solapurians and many devotees believe that the birth of this saint caused Solapur a prosperity.  

Siddheshwar Temple is situated in the middle of the lake with a backdrop of the fort looming behind it. Recently many activities happed by devotees to develop this temple further with all around solar lights in the temple and around the lake. Further they decided to make it like a Golden temple, Amritsar and started to devote silver and gold to rebuild the temple.


Tulja Bhavani Temple :-

 Tulja Bhavani temple is built on hill known as Bala ghat. It is situated in Osmanabad district and the nearest reailway station and airport is Solapur railway station.
